Jackson vs. Jones UFC 135 promo is kinda awesome

The news about UFC 135 this week has centered around Quinton Jackson's allegations of a spy planted in his camp. Does that make you want to watch the fight, or would you prefer a well-done promo video?

The UFC sometimes is formulaic in their promotional videos, but this one doesn't fit that category. It builds up drama while still showing off the best of Jackson and Jon Jones.

Andrei Arlovski's Camp Turns Down Sean McCorkle for ProElite 2

ProElite is hoping to book heavyweight Andrei Arlovski for its second show, but one thing is for certain, he won't be fighting former UFC fighter Sean McCorkle.

According to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, Arlovski's camp turned down a fight against "Big Sexy" for the organization's second show. No specific reason was given for their refusal to fight the 12-2 McCorkle.

ProElite officials wouldn't confirm or deny the story when contacted by MMA Fighting on Friday. They did say that they still hope to have "The Pitbull" fight for them November.

Arlovski (16-9) defeated Ray Lopez via third-round TKO in ProElite's first show since Oct. 2008 last month. The win snapped his four-fight losing streak.

McCorkle is 2-0 since leaving the UFC in March. He will be a guest on Monday's episode of The MMA Hour.

With Cormier injured, Barnett suggests alternative for Grand Prix finals

Daniel Cormier scored the biggest win of his MMA career on Saturday night, but it came with a price. In his knockout win over Antonio Silva, Cormier broke his hand. Via Twitter, he said that he will be for six weeks with the injury.

Josh Barnett beat Sergei Kharitonov on Saturday for the chance to fight Cormier for the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix title. When he heard about Cormier's injury, Barnett tweeted a fair alternative to fighting.

With Cormier injured, Barnett suggests alternative for Grand Prix finals

YES. Who wouldn't want to see Cormier and Barnett involved in a battle that resembled "West Side Story," where they would both yell, "MAMBO? MAMBO! GO!"

In reality, six weeks off for Cormier is not the worst thing. That means Cormier should be able to go sometime in November. Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said that the final will take place sometime in the first quarter of 2012, so Cormier's injury shouldn't delay the fight. It also won't necessitate the really terrible idea that Coker floated: a replacement for Cormier in the finals.
